When Ezra Meeker crossed the country in 1859, he mostly passed through unorganized territory. By 1906, Meeker’s trail back east crossed barbed wire and state borders. Meeker’s monument expedition inspired public-private partnerships across the country as individual states pushed to mark the trail within their borders. But what about the places where the trail crosses from one state into the next? Learn more about a few of the interstate partnerships.
